Story

Backstory

A'sali was born among the A tribe in Thanalan. Like her littermates, she learned hunting, foraging, navigating around the Amalj'aa, and the ways of the desert. Yet unlike her littermates, ever since seeing beautiful dancers traveling through her tribe's territory, she dreamt of being like them. When she heard one day that a dance troupe from Costa del Sol would be recruiting in Ul'dah, she thought that could be her paw in the door. Still a preteen, she received her Nunh's blessing to pack up and move to the nearby city of Ul'dah. She earned her keep by hunting with her bow and supplying meat for meager income. She could even sing and dance thanks to her practice of traditional miqo'te performances. She dedicated herself to her dream: To dance beautifully and alluringly like the professionals from Ul'dah and Costa del Sol who she'd come to admire. At the time it seemed much more glamorous than it really was, an illusion she would soon discard upon hearing client horror stories from more experienced dancers. Still, she would not let it daunt her; Optimism was her specialty! No matter how difficult or ugly it could be, she was ready to accept it.After some moons in Ul'dah, she became a woman about town; She knew all the locals and they all knew her. She was prone to chatter and gossip, but it got her enough work to get by. She was learning, practicing, making friends, but still hunting and doing odd jobs for work, similar to an adventurer. She realized she had no idea where she wanted to go from there.

A'pollo
One day, a miqo'te named A'pollo approached her to ask about her tribe, saying he'd overheard her name with the A prefix. Being herself, she leapt gleefully into the conversation. She had seen him around Ul'dah and even heard of him as a newcomer to the Coliseum. Delighted to meet a handsome fellow miqo'te, she began spending time with him every day. Eventually, she asked him out, and he gets very swept up in it. Recalling his initial question upon meeting her, she took her new boyfriend to meet the A tribe. Together they inquired for clues of his origin, but it was fruitless. Neither of them knew that A'pollo wasn't even his birth name.
They carried on with their relationship, but one day, A'pollo left without a word. She felt used, because the person she was with every day vanished, only after their investigation turned up empty... but she resolved to keep her chin up and move on. She'd begun to expect it when she realized their relationship felt more like friends than lovers; She knew that A'pollo had an internal anguish that she could never have healed.A'sali had all of her friends in Ul'dah to support her--even A'pollo's father! She bounced back enthusiastically, knowing that she had done nothing wrong. When she would face him again someday, it would be easy.

Ongoing Story

New inspiration strikes when A'sali learns of an entirely new kind of dance, one with aetherial and spiritual powers, even capable of combat. The Thavnairian troupe visiting town are unlike anything she's ever seen. She has to shoot her shot; She makes immediate moves to meet the dancers and learn about their craft, and her dream grows explosively the more she learns. A'sali had always known that dance was an art form far beyond just the movements of the body, and now she has proof. Thavnairian dance is the answer, and her new goal becomes touring and visiting Thavnair some day.The main challenge, then, is realizing how much of a network she has in Ul'dah, and how she'd always had access to her tribe even if she doesn't live with them anymore. If she is to leave Ul'dah, there will be no easy way to visit home. Not quite ready to let go, she holds onto the notion of learning Thavnairian dancing or even other styles of dance from around the world and then somehow making it back to Ul'dah... but she will go anywhere that her dream takes her.

Lore
A'sali is not a WoL nor Scion, and has no Echo; She originally existed in the story of my main WoL, A'pollo. As for interacting with other WoLs, I'm not too strict about it and I'm happy with having semi-AUs or having our characters just cameo in each other's worlds.

Shipping
A'sali is open to platonic and romantic relationships. I am happy to have AUs and multiships as well.
